Stall
From CMC Wiki
Stall is a verb in which to slow or stop forward motion. In terms of CMC, it means to delay the progression of a game, stalling. Stalling does not win by itself unless the intention is to deck the opponent who has a smaller deck or draws more cards each turn. The strategy usually is done in combination with another strategy that suits a game of long duration.
Types of cards found for stalling, though not all at once:
- Monsters with high durability, such as walls.
- Dizziers and Diplomacy, for preventing enemy attacks.
- Snipers, for destroying enemy monsters before they can attack without risking your own monsters.
- Health Gain, for letting yourself take more damage.
- Monster-producing Territories, for providing a stream of blockers.
- Traps and Mountain Range, for punishing attackers.
- Damage-reducers, like Trenches, Iridith Village, and Abandoned Fortress.
The strategies used in combination with stalling do not generally involve monsters with high attack. The opponent will usually be taken down slowly, whether by Decking, Direct Damage, or Invisible Attack.
