CMC Rules Summary

A breach of these rules will result in punishment ranging from a warning to a ban.

All activities are logged on the server. If you're breaking these rules, you WILL be caught. Punishments will be dealt out on a case-by-case basis, ranging from a simple warning to a permanent ban.

If you feel someone is breaking any of the rules, report it to a moderator or webrunner. When making any report, please try to describe in detail what has happened, and attach screenshot(s) as necessary.

And just because an abuse isn't listed does not mean that it's allowed. Use your common sense please.

Account Abuse

Do not create multiple user accounts for the purpose of "farming"

Farming includes:

  • Obtaining voucher cards and trading them between your accounts.
  • Trading or selling voucher cards, and trading the proceeds between your accounts.
  • Trading initial commodities (1,000 points, starter deck) between your accounts.
  • Playing games between your accounts.
  • Giving away or selling voucher cards or initial commodities from alt accounts, even if the recipient isn't yourself.

Do not intentionally and repeatedly surrender games

This includes:

  • Playing with a zero card deck, or deck too small for a proper game.
  • Surrendering upon entering games.

This is considered abuse whether you do this to one or multiple other players. At the most, you may have the occasional first turn surrender due to accidentally using the wrong deck, but you should explain this to your opponent, then play a proper game with the correct deck afterwards.

Do not try to obtain another player's password

This includes:

  • Trying to login with another player's account by guessing their password.
  • Trying to get a player to divulge their password.

Etiquette

Do not verbally abuse another player

Verbal abuse includes:

  • Foul language (Cursing, racist remarks, lewd comments, etc)
  • Belittling/Degrading/Chastising language (a.k.a. severely criticizing/mocking someone with intent to provoke)
  • Threatening language

CMC is meant to be played in a friendly, enjoyable environment. Many people have different ideas on what kind of language breaks these rules and what doesn't. Therefore, if someone offends you with their language, ask them to stop (politely).

Do not ask for vouchers, and do not give them out

If all vouchers were meant to be easily obtained, they would all be posted in plain view for everyone to see. A voucher is meant to be a pleasant redemption for the effort put into a search - not "VCHPASSMEAROUND".

Do not abuse bugs

If you find a bug in CMC, report it in the Tech Support and Bug Reports Forum.

Do not intentionally idle in a game without a good reason

If you're required to idle, make a mention of it. "BRB", three simple letters, is usually all it takes to inform someone that you have to leave for a moment. If you're going to be gone for more than a few minutes, ask the opponent if they mind waiting. If they don't want to wait for you, then surrender the game. Do not idle in an attempt to annoy the opponent or force them to surrender.
