Modifiers (Mods for short) are a type of card that attach to an existing entity, and conferring bonuses, penalties or new abilities to them - even allowing for a single monster to have more than one activatable ability. A card with a modifier attached is denoted by an icon of two interlocking puzzle shapes in the upper-left corner of the cardart. Any attached modifiers can be viewed by pressing the Mods button of the interface.
Modifiers can be played during the play phase only, on any entity that doesn't already have an attahed modifier. Once a modifier is attached to an entity it will last the duration of the game - the only way to remove the attachment is by removing the attached entity itself from play, after which the modifier will be sent to the graveyard of the player that played the modifier.
Any activatable ability given by a modifier can only be used by the owner of the entity it's attached to, and any abilities on a modifier that refer to itself actually refer to the entity it is attached to.
Modifiers do not count as entities for determining synergistic abilities and the like, but counts as a card for the purposes of topdecking (for example, a Construction Kit will be able to topdeck an Exo-Suit).
The Mechanical Chaos expansion premiered the modifier card.
Refer to Category:Modifier for a list of modifier cards.
