Card Details
- The initial 30 damage can be especially damaging to an opponent that doesn't expect it. If the opponent can anticipate it however, they can reveal Minefield by attacking with just one monster.
- Works well with Hyperspace, as it lets you increase the damage dealt from 5 to 30 to all attackers. This is harder to anticipate, especially as Hyperspace has no mana cost.
- Once its initial damage has been dealt, it functions similarly to a Kelar Tower, though it can be sacced to recoup the cost.
- When playing another Face Down effect, it is often useful to wait until you have
1
4 available, even if the effect in question doesn't require that much mana. The risk of it being a Minefield is usually enough to stop your opponent from attacking full-out next turn.
- Minefield is usually the most common and most disruptive Face Down card, and so it is often said that "All face down cards are Minefields", or variants of. This may have originated from one of Cardmaster's quotes.
