- In a magmite deck, Lava Wyrm will never have any difficulty in finding burned monsters to consume.
- Unlike most trophy monsters which have hidden Speed Summon, this one has hidden DLG Damage: 0% instead.

- Apr 3rd, 2006: Card added to CSCs.
- Aug 18th, 2007: Card fixed to have ability not trigger when zero damage is dealt due to Protect and "takes no damage until end of turn" abilities.
- Jun 8th, 2009: Burn status effect changed in error to deal 5 damage on the turn it fades for player one only.
- Jun 9th, 2011: Burn status effect fixed to deal 5 damage on the turn it fades for both players.
- Jun 16th, 2011: Monster type changed to magmite dragon from magmite wyrm.
- Aug 29th, 2011: DLG Damage: 0% ability made non-hidden.
- Apr 17th, 2012: Ability changed to inflict Burn+1 status effect instead of Burn:1.
