Additional Material
- Each time you connect, you're required to identify yourself with that nickname you entered earlier. That can get tiresome. To auto-identify yourself with the Nightstar server, open up the Options window and select the Servers menu again. Click on the Edit button with the Nightstar server selected enter your password in the box next to Password. Now each time you connect, the server window will show you that you've identified yourself.
- To auto join #cmc on connection, select the Favorites menu on the menu bar, and select "Add to Favorites." Type in "#cmc" in the channel box and select the "Join on connect" option. In the Networks dropdown menu, select NightStar-that way, you'll only auto join to #cmc when you connect to the NightStar server.
Channels
These are channels that CMC players and forumites usually reside. This list includes both active and inactive channels.
#cmc
The channel itself is currently run by webrunner, Outpost, MooNFisH and alphamai1300 as the operators (ops). They are the equivalent to the moderators found on the CMC forums. Along with them is Outpost's bot, Outbot. Various chatters come and go, and all are welcome (usually).
#trivia
This channel houses Outbot's trivia game function. The command !trivia starts the game, with 10 questions as the default number. Anyone can participate, though it is taboo to play without an opponent. Currently this channel is not in use by the CMC community.
#BEng
This channel is used for the Battle Engine bot, an individual or group game RPG over IRC. Players register and can interact with each other as well as travel various maps and battle monsters made up and including those from ADVENTURERS!
#IdleRPG
The purpose of this channel is to stay "idle" for as long as possible, which means doing absolutely nothing within the channel. You are penalized for talking, performing actions, and even leaving the channel. It is currently down.
Other channels have included #boggle, #uno, #rps, #mon, #coin.
