Beatdown

Beatdown is a strategy involving the use of beatsticks to overrun the opponent. Since beatsticks are statistically powerful monsters, this strategy often generates card and mana advantage by using one monster to destroy multiple of the opponent's monsters.

The term "beatdown" sometimes refers to the extreme case where the deck consists entirely of generators, sources, and beatsticks. A less extreme definition allows supporting cards, for example card draw, effect D, monster D and boosts.

Beatdown decks can vary in speed based on mana costs, number of sources, and number of generators.

Beatdown decks should not be confused with rush decks as the two have vastly different styles of play. Beatdown decks use monsters for board control, while rush decks generally just want to use them to damage their opponents as quickly as possible.
